China's top legislature to strengthen recording, review of normative documents
China's top legislature on Monday pledged to enhance the recording and review of normative documents to ensure the effective enforcement of the country's Constitution and laws.
The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) will focus on reviewing normative documents and overhaul those that contravene China's Constitution and relevant laws, Shen Chunyao, director of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee, said at a seminar held in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.
Shen said the move also aims to improve the NPC Standing Committee's capabilities in identifying, researching and resolving problems related to recording and review work.
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012, the country's top legislature has promoted the revision or abolition of over 25,000 normative documents, effectively safeguarding the authority of China's Constitution and laws, as well as the integrity of the rule of law in China.
